The synopsis is described as: following the lives of eight very different couples in dealing with their love lives in various loosely interrelated tales all set during a frantic month before Christmas in London, England.
The predominantly British ensemble that included plenty of recognizable names, including Alan Rickman, Emma Thompson, Hugh Grant, Keira Knightley, Colin Firth, Liam Neeson, Bill Nighy, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Laura Linney, Martin Freeman, Billy Bob Thornton, and Rowan Atkinson.
It earned a Golden Globe Award nomination for Best Motion Picture — Musical or Comedy, although it was more popular with audiences than with the critics.
