MICKEY’S CHRISTMAS CAROL
Released in 1983, the animated featurette adaptation of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol, features Mickey, Minnie and Scrooge McDuck in this Disney-themed retelling.
Set in dreary London on Christmas Eve, a miserly Scrooge is visited by the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Future as he learns the life lessons of love and charity towards all mankind, especially those closest to your heart.
The film marked the first original Mickey Mouse theatrical cartoon produced in over 30 years. It was voiced by Alan Young, Wayne Allwine, Hal Smith, Haynes Schroll, Eddie Carroll, Clarence Nash, Patricia Parris and many others in the Disney stable.
It earned an Academy Award nomination for Best Animated Short Film, but lost out to Sundae in New York.
It wouldn’t be Christmas without a trip to the Disney Magic Kingdom. Of course, it’ll have to be a streaming visit this year.
