What is the premise of The Tattooist of Auschwitz?

The 6-part series is based on the best-seller by Heather Morris and tells the real-life inspired Holocaust story of Lali and Gita Sokolov, two prisoners who met, fell in love, and survived the Auschwitz Concentration camp.

Adam appears as the French political prisoner Pepan, whose job is to tattoo the prisoners with identification numbers. He saves Lali, taking him under his wing as his assistant and setting up his eventual meeting of new prisoner Gita.

How did Adam Karst prepare for this role?

Adam shares: “Growing up in Israel, we were taught a lot about the Holocaust, so that helped me better understand the situation and what the characters were going through,” Karst shares. “I also pulled from my own family history because my Algerian Grandpa, who spoke French, was in the French Foreign Legion and was a prisoner of war for two years in the Indochina War in Vietnam.”
