Air Force veteran John Adkins, who makes his television debut as two different characters in the new series, The Terminal List, starring Chris Pratt and premiering on Amazon’s Prime Video beginning July 1, 2022.
What is the premise of The Terminal List?
The action-thriller series is based on former Navy SEAL Jack Carr’s New York Times best-selling novel. The story follows Lt. Commander James Reece (Pratt) in the fallout of a clandestine Navy SEAL mission gone awry. Shellshocked and questioning everything, Reece heads out on his own mission seeking truth and vengeance for his fallen team.
John first emerges in the opening episode as a QRF Army Ranger Medic on the chaotic frontline. Later he returns to the show as Isaac ‘Crazy’ Kim, a recurring member of the FBI’s elite Hostage Rescue Team (HRT) on an extremely dangerous law enforcement mission.

John is part of a stellar cast that includes Chris Pratt, JD Pardo, Constance Wu, Taylor Kitsch, Riley Keough and Patrick Schwarzeneggar, in addition to many other military veterans. The series comes from executive producer-director Antoine Fuqua and producer-showrunner David Gilio.

“This was obviously the biggest project I have ever booked and I was extremely nervous. What helped me were my fellow veterans who have booked other big projects, but also watching and learning from JD Pardo. He was so professional, but also very easy to talk to which helped me immensely.”
What is John Adkins’ background?
A Korean-American born in Tacoma, Washington, John actually grew up on a military base in Germany, where his dad was stationed. No one was surprised when the military kid later enlisted in the Air Force and spent six years stationed at a base in Los Angeles. He earned his undergraduate degree while serving, and afterwards went on to get his Master of Business for Veterans at the University of Southern California. Interested in giving back to veterans, John works as an Administrative Officer at the Department of Veterans Affairs hospital in West Los Angeles.
How did John Adkins get into acting?
A few years ago, John enrolled in a class at The Los Angeles Film School on filmmaking. It was during class that he happened to step in front of the camera and discover his acting skills.

In addition to his military training, John has exceptional athletic skills. Standing 6’5” tall, he has cultivated his natural fitness-related abilities, including basketball, cross-fit and Muay Thai, a form of martial arts often referred to as ‘Thai Boxing’.
