What is the premise of Life and Lemons?
The story is described as: Isolation reveals long-hidden problems in Daniel and Milan’s seemingly normal marriage, as a stranger arrives triggering devastatingly surreal consequences.
What else do we know about Life and Lemons?
D. Elliot Woods conceived of the premise and shot it since COVID-19 sent everyone into quarantine. The production operated using proper safety protocols and involved only four people: D. Elliot Woods, actors Keith Burke (The Haves and the Have Nots) and Sandra Thigpen Ferrari (Days of Our Lives, BULL), and Cinematographer/Editor Edgar P. Davis.
Why did D. Elliot Woods want to make this short film?
“The idea came to me a couple of days into the quarantine after hearing that police were receiving a significant increase in domestic violence calls. Then I saw a lemon fall from the tree in my back yard…which made me think of the saying: ‘when life gives you lemons — make lemonade.”
To further help those suffering from domestic violence, Woods added a PSA at the end of the film and is donating 25% of the proceeds from the sale of merchandise at FlyFreeEnt.com through August.
What is D. Elliot Woods’ background?
D. Elliot Woods has portrayed both humans and aliens in a few of the Star Trek franchise projects. His credits also include stints on NCIS: LA, Ballers, Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D, Friends, and Drake & Josh; and over 100 commercials. He has studied his craft under award-winning actress Alfre Woodard and acclaimed actor/director/producer, Bill Duke.
Woods founded Fly Free Entertainment and writes, produces and directs his own projects. He is currently in pre-production on the dark comedy short film, MF Had It Coming and the suspense-thriller feature, Rise of the Unicorn. In addition, Woods often guest lectures at colleges and universities about acting technique, the business of entertainment, and public speaking techniques.
