Actor Exie Booker, who portrays the criminal boss Derrick ‘Tex’ Patterson in Peacock’s 1970’s true-crime thriller, Fight Night: The Million Dollar Heist, now streaming.
Exie appears in the limited series alongside Kevin Hart, Taraji P. Henson, Don Cheadle, Samuel L. Jackson, and Terrance Howard. It is created by writer/showrunner Shaye Ogbonna and based on a popular iHeart true-crime podcast.
What is the premise of Fight Night?
The story is described as: revolving around an infamous armed robbery on the night of Muhammad Ali’s historic 1970 comeback fight. A hustler named Chicken Man (Hart) becomes the prime suspect when he hosts an afterparty with a guest list of the country’s wealthiest, including Derrick ‘Tex’ Patterson (Booker). Hellbent on clearing his name, Chicken Man must convince his old adversary of his innocence to the most brazen heist in Atlanta’s history.

This October, Exie will be appearing in another based on real life story when he plays Smiling Sam Green in the family film, Average Joe. An uplifting story about Joseph Kennedy, a retired US Marine turned high school coach who finds himself taking a legal stand to defend his marriage, job, and religious freedom.
Exie will also emerge on Paramount+ in Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan’s new oil rig drama series, Landman, starring Billy Bob Thornton.
