Written by Gil Kenan and Jason Reitman, the film is described as: based on the true story of the 90 minutes leading up to the debut broadcast of NBC’s Saturday Night Live show on October 11, 1975, when a ferocious troupe of young comedians and writers changed television — and culture — forever.
