The multi-talented Kristi Roosmaa stars and produced award-winning short film, Wildflower, one immigrant’s universal tale about love and loss. The film made its World Premiere on opening night of the 20th annual FirstGlance Film Festival in Los Angeles.

The film is described as: Inspired by real-life events, Wildflower centers around an immigrant woman struggling to make a heartbreaking choice while pursuing her life-long dream of making it as a professional singer in New York.
What else do we know about Wildflower?
Before making its Official Premiere, the film won several accolades including, Best Indie Short at Oniros Film Festival, Award of Merit at One-Reeler Short Film Competition, and Exceptional Merit at WRPN.TV Short, Tight and Loose global film festival competition.
Kristi won individual awards Best Actress at Oniros Film Festival and Best Actress at Top Shorts Film Festival.
Who was involved with making Wildflower?
The film comes from an all-female creative team, including Kristi Roosmaa who stars and produced, with Tony-nominated producer Celine Rosenthal directing. Artemis Women In Action Film Festival Screenplay winner Susan Cameron wrote the screenplay, and working behind the scenes was cinematographer Charlotte Dupre and award-winning co-producer Natalie Schwan.
Why did Kristi Roosmaa want to tell this story?
Born and raised in Estonia, Kristi developed the project to honor her late grandma. She adds, “I wanted to tell this story because we’re in a time where America is having active conversations about immigrants, how they are treated, and the value they provide to our country. Wildflower tells a story of universal love and reminds us that things that unite us are far greater than the things that divide us.”
What is Kristi Roosmaa’s background?
Kristi began singing at the age of 5 when she first performed in a local bakery in Estonia. Fast-forward years later, she landed in New York singing solo at Carnegie Hall and appearing on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. Kristi is smart too. She earned a law degree from Tartu University Institute of Law, a performing arts degree from The American Musical and Dramatic Academy, and a dance certificate from the Broadway Dance Center.
