Creator and actress Stephanie Stern launches her original short form comedy series, Double Jack, Stephanie stars alongside comedian Willie Macc in the first 6-episodes releasing in single installments weekly on IGTV @DoubleJackSeries followed by additional digital platforms the next day.
What is the premise of Double Jack?
The series is described as: centering around a countrified female parolee who convinces a construction company to give her a job before realizing she’s not the sharpest tool in the box. After bad luck with an “ex” lands Nickel Jacks (Stern) in prison, she gets released onto the big city streets of Los Angeles. Desperate for a job, this down-on-her luck small town Southern gal stumbles into Jack Carter (Macc), the owner of Double Jack Construction Company. A self-made man with a soft-spot for second chances, Jack cautiously agrees to give Nickel the break she needs. But, can this ex-con build a better life or will she be demolished once again?

Stephanie wrote the project, bringing in Emmy winning writer Sandy Krinski as a story consultant. The series also marks a directing debut for Stephanie.
Why did Stephanie Stern want to make this web series?
Stephanie explains, “I wanted to create something that would bring a smile to people’s faces and my family would watch. I thought short form comedy would be the easiest for me to manage as my directorial debut and I got a lot of schooling.”
What is Stephanie Stern’s background?
Originally from Texas, Stephanie wrote plays in high school and was a forensics phenom, winning the Oretha Jane Whitworth Award for Outstanding Oral Interpreter. She started her entertainment career in Dallas before moving to New York to study at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy (AMDA). While in the Big Apple, Stephanie appeared on ABC’s All My Children, in Off-Off Broadway shows at Theatre For The New City, and performed stand-up at Comic Strip Live. Before moving to Los Angeles, she traveled throughout the country and to South East Asia performing in a children’s show. She continues to rack up credits on stage and screen, including the horror-thriller No Solicitors starring Eric Roberts.
