Who is Buzzworthy?
Teen actress Sydney Shiotani who made her television debut as ‘Obsidian’ on the season finale episode of FX’s Better Things.
The series was co-created and stars Pamela Adlon as Sam, a single mother struggling to balance her busy career and ‘cool’ mom to her three daughters (Mikey Madison, Hannah Alligood, Olivia Edward). In the episode “Shake the Cocktail,” Sam’s daughter Frankie hasn’t been home in days and isn’t calling or texting her mom back. After getting tipped off, Sam shows up to confront her daughter and learns that she’s been staying with her friend Obsidian (Shiotani).
What else do we know about Sydney Shiotani?
Last fall, she entered festival goers starring as the reluctant mutant Daphne in the dramatic short, Origin X. The film is about two teens with special abilities whose worlds collide when threatened with the exposure of their secret.
Where will Sydney Shiotani be seen next?
At college! Sydney will be graduating high school this spring and heading back east to pursue a BFA in Acting from the esteemed Rutgers Mason Gross School of the Arts.
